Founded by Madeline Ritter and Ingo Diehl in Berlin in 2011, DIEHL+RITTER is an internationally operating, non-profit agency that develops innovative strategies and funding programmes in the fields of art, culture and education. The multi-year initiatives are designed to have long-term impacts and are implemented in close co-operation with partners in cultural policy and administration and the arts scene. In addition to running its own programmes, DIEHL+RITTER also offers a wide range of services from comprehensive consultation for cultural events and funding programmes to the curating, design, implementation and evaluation of these events. From 2005 to 2010, Madeline Ritter, sole shareholder and managing director of DIEHL+RITTER, designed and directed the German Federal Cultural Foundation’s match-funding initiative Tanzplan Deutschland (Dance Plan Germany) which became a successful model project both nationally and internationally and generated EUR 21 million for dance. After Tanzplan Deutschland, Madeline Ritter designed the funding programmes Tanzfonds Partner (Dance Partner Fund) and Tanzfonds Erbe (Dance Heritage Fund) with Ingo Diehl on behalf of the Federal Cultural Foundation. The entrepreneurial company also launched the pioneering DANCE ON initiative, focusing on dance and age, with funding from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, and it is a lead partner in the European project DANCE ON, PASS ON, DREAM ON. DIEHL+RITTER is further running the promotion programme TANZPAKT Stadt-Land-Bund (DANCE PACT Local-Regional-National) in co-operation with the Dachverband Tanz Deutschland (the Umbrella Association for Dance in Germany) and is cooperation-partner of the Tanzkongress that takes place in 2019 in Dresden.
